kix cereal box image

In late 1940s, Kix made a collection of particulate boxes for his cereals. Each box had printed locomotives and wagons inside, which could be cut, folded and glued to obtain awesome scale models (for the time). While maintaining a certain simplicity, the models were very colorful and could be easily built by children. On each box was written "Get these keen scaled railroad models in Kix boxes!".

The boxes also contained a comic book page with specially written adventures.

There were 35 different models available printed in 16 different boxes.

Here is a series of original Kix Cereal boxes, which allows you to appreciate this period curiosity.
